How it works

A token, a machine, and fuel. Everything else follows from those three.

five states, one lamp
the machine states

A machine is one lamp at five intensities, not five different colours. That is deliberate: it is how a real power LED behaves, and it keeps the page readable when forty machines are on screen at once.

OFFNo machine yet.
BOOTINGPowering on.
RUNNINGWorking on the queue.
IDLEFuel is low. Still up, not working.
HALTEDOut of fuel. Refuel to bring it back.
fuel

Fuel is SOL held against a machine. It comes from two places: creator fees routed in, and refuels, which anyone can send and which are signed by their own wallet. Fuel is converted to hours using the GPU price read from the provider and the SOL/USD price read at that moment, and both readings are shown next to the number.

  • Below 2 hours the machine goes IDLE: still up, no longer taking the queue.
  • At zero it HALTS.
  • If either price cannot be read, hours left shows a dash, never a zero. A guessed price would halt a machine that still had fuel.
who signs what

Your wallet signs the launch, and your wallet signs every refuel. Bootpad has no column, file or environment variable for a private key, and it never asks for a seed phrase. Sign-in is a plain text message, not a structured sign-in payload.

what is not live yet

Renting real GPUs sits behind a spend cap and is opening soon. Until it opens, a machine runs its agent against a sandboxed static build, and its page says exactly that rather than implying a rented GPU is running.
